If you have a sketch or an idea, our custom jewelry manufacturing page is the right starting point. This page is about the narrower, more technical case: you have a file, and you need a workshop that can cast from it without turning your design into something else.

Designers who model their own work usually arrive here after a bad experience — a file that came back with the prong geometry silently altered, a piece cast at a wall thickness that broke in setting, or a manufacturer who did not mention a problem until after production. What follows is how we try not to be that.

File formats we work with

Format	Notes
STL	The most common exchange format for casting. Send it watertight and correctly scaled.
3DM (Rhino)	Preferred where available — NURBS surfaces let us adjust cleanly if something needs correcting.
OBJ	Workable, though mesh density and scale need confirming before we proceed.
STEP / IGES	Accepted for solid geometry.
Matrix / RhinoGold files	Send them and we will confirm what we can open before you assume anything.

If your format is not listed, ask. It is faster to check than to convert and discover a problem after casting.

What we check before anything is cast

A file that renders beautifully on screen can still be unmanufacturable. We review every incoming file and come back to you before production if we find any of the following, rather than quietly fixing it in a way you did not approve:

• Wall thickness and structural strength — sections too thin to survive casting, setting or ordinary wear.
• Seat and prong geometry — whether the stones you specified will actually sit, and whether the prongs have enough material to be pushed over.
• Stone sizes against the model — whether the seats match the stones you intend to use.
• Mesh integrity — non-manifold geometry, inverted normals, gaps and open edges.
• Scale — unit mismatches are the single most common problem in files we receive.
• Metal weight — we calculate it from the model so you know the cost implication before committing.

If something needs changing, you get a clear description of the problem, what we propose, and how it affects the design. Nothing is altered without your approval.

If you do not have a file yet

We model in-house. Send a sketch, a reference image or a written brief and we will produce the CAD, send renders for approval, and manufacture once you have signed off on what you are looking at. The model is developed for your project, and the process is covered on the custom jewelry manufacturing page.

From file to finished piece

1. You send the file. With the stone specification, metal and size, and the quantity you have in mind.
2. Technical review. We check the model against the list above and raise anything that needs a decision from you.
3. Quote. Priced against calculated metal weight and your stone specification, not an estimate.
4. Render approval. Where changes were needed, you approve an updated render before anything is made.
5. Wax and casting. The model is grown and cast in your specified metal.
6. Setting and finishing. Stones set and the piece polished to the specified finish.
7. Inspection and dispatch. Checked against the approved model, then shipped insured to your US address.

Materials available

10K, 14K and 18K gold in yellow, white and rose, and 925 sterling silver with plating options. Stones can be lab-grown diamond, moissanite or natural diamond — supplied by us, or set from stones you send. If you are supplying your own stones, tell us before you ship them so we can confirm the seats in your model match.

Your files and your designs

Files you send are used to manufacture your order and nothing else. We do not add a client’s model to our catalogue, reuse it for another buyer, or pass it on. If you want that committed in writing before you send anything, ask and we will provide it.
